Meet Our Instructors

Teacher Imelda is a dedicated pedagogue, festival adjudicator, and performer. She has been teaching piano for over 20 years in both Hong Kong and Canada. She holds a Master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy and mentors students in piano. Imelda is passionate about music education and enjoys connecting with her students’ interests, finding ways to motivate, encourage, and inspire them. She has extensive experience preparing students for exams at all levels (RCM, ABRSM, TRINITY), with many of her students achieving distinctions. Additionally, she is a mentor to several developing music teachers.
In the past, in Hong Kong, Imelda worked in numerous music education studios and organized various music classes for students of all ages. She values the art of sharing her passion for music through both teaching and performances. Currently, she is studying the violin at Vancouver Music Academy and hopes to expand her music knowledge further.

Ms. Suki Cheung was born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver where she started playing the piano at the age of 4. She completed Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Practical Exam and achieved First-class Honors with Distinction in Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Rudiments. She has also studied up to Harmony & History and played the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) level. Ms. Suki started teaching before she graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in 2014.
As a RCM certified piano teacher, Ms. Suki has over 14 years of experience in teaching piano at her home studio, local music studio and education center in Sunset, Renfrew-Collingwood and East Vancouver area. With over 30 years of playing the piano, she is knowledgeable at preparing students for their RCM theory & practical examinations, also piano recitals. She specializes in teaching children, teenagers and adults from the ages of 4 and up. Ms. Suki’s students have achieved outstanding results in their piano and theory exams through her teaching that utilizes a broad range of techniques, methods and fun strategies.
With her diversified cultural and educational background, she understands the importance of utilizing various teaching approaches to cater the needs of each individual to learn and explore music. In order to pass on her piano skills and knowledge to the next generation, Ms. Suki is a strong believer of self-growth and continued learning in piano pedagogy and music theories. She is passionate about developing the brain, motor skills and musical interest of children through learning the piano.
Ms. Suki is a creative, self-motivated, and observant piano instructor who fosters a nurturing and positive learning environment. With her encouraging attitude, she ensures that her students remain motivated and excited throughout their musical journey. Emphasizing the importance of consistent practice, her teaching motto, ‘Practice makes perfect!’ reflects her belief that hard work and perseverance are key to mastering the piano. Ms. Suki’s approach to teaching combines patience, enthusiasm, and a personalized touch to help each student reach their fullest potential.


Carrie is a caring, patient, enthusiastic, and energetic music teacher from Hong Kong. She started playing the piano at the age of 6 and graduated from Douglas College in British Columbia with a Music Diploma in 2024, earning a high cumulative GPA of 4.23, Dean’s List honors every semester, multiple scholarships, and the Music Award of Distinction (Walter G. Robertson Memorial). Carrie holds ATCL (2006) and LTCL (2009) piano performance diplomas from Trinity College London, both with distinction, as well
as an ABRSM Grade 8 cello certification with distinction.
With over 18 years of teaching experience, Carrie specializes in piano, cello, music theory, and ear training for students of all ages. She has also gained rich experience as a piano accompanist, supporting students of various instruments, choirs, and jazz bands. Many of her students have excelled in competitions, including the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, earning top placements. In 2023, she served as the principal cellist for part of the season with the New Westminster Symphony Orchestra.
Carrie’s teaching approach emphasizes skill-building and fostering a lasting
appreciation for music. She strives to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to progress at their own pace. She adapts her lessons to suit each student’s individual needs, ensuring a balanced approach that promotes both discipline and creativity. Carrie’s goal is to help students improve their musical abilities while developing a genuine passion for music.

Ms. Christy, Wing Yu Tong, has professional training in music education, specializing in piano pedagogy. Over the years, she has continually expanded her expertise through music seminars and workshops led by renowned international pianists, musicians, and educators. A passionate and energetic teacher, Ms. Christy inspires her piano students to reach their full potential.
Ms. Christy teaches students ranging from 3-year-olds to adults in their 60s and beyond, helping learners of all ages and abilities develop a love for the piano. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she believes that a strong foundation is essential for long-term success in music, enabling students to achieve greater progress and higher levels of performance.
After earning a diploma in Music Performance (DipABRSM) and an ATCL from Trinity College London, Ms. Christy furthered her studies in music theory, obtaining an Associate Diploma in Music Theory, Criticism, and Literature (AmusTCL). She then specialized in piano pedagogy, earning both a Certificate of Teaching (CT ABRSM) and a Teaching Diploma (DipABRSM Teaching). Ms. Christy promotes a creative, comprehensive approach to piano instruction. In her lessons, students learn professional piano techniques alongside music theory to deepen their understanding of piano music. This approach enhances their musical appreciation and even enables beginners to create their own compositions. Ms. Christy is dedicated to nurturing both skilled pianists and individuals with a profound love for music.


Tiffany was born and raised in Vancouver where she started playing the piano at the age of 4 and has a strong passion about music and piano teaching. She has completed The Royal Conservatory Music (RCM) Piano Practical Level 10 with honours, Theory in Harmony & History in 2018 and has continued contributing to music by performing at piano recitals, creating her own compositions. Tiffany has over 8 years of experience in teaching piano to students of all ages, especially children from the age of 4. Her methodology for children involves curated lessons, allowing students to achieve their musical goals with ease. She also helps students prepare RCM Practical and theory exams. With over 17 years of experience with playing the piano, she is also well-versed with the alto saxophone and teaches this instrument to novice learners.
Tiffany is currently an undergraduate student at the Simon Fraser University and the vice-president for the SFU Jazz Band who organizes performances for the local community, and has directed her own performances and fundraise for the local community. To date, she has received several accolades for her academics and volunteerism efforts, including the 2021 SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Award with Distinction, and has won over $150,000 in scholarships to fund her undergraduate studies and living expenses.
Ms. Crystal Wong, a graduate of the University of Hong Kong with a Master’s degree in Corporate Environmental Governance, has been deeply passionate about music since her childhood. She began her piano studies at the age of 5 and achieved exceptional results, passing the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 Piano and Music Theory at 16. She later excelled in the music subject of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education and Hong Kong Advanced Level Examinations, administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority.
Since her university years, Ms. Wong has been dedicated to teaching piano and small-group elementary music theory classes, accumulating extensive teaching experience. She has a strong interest in music theory and history, and in recent years, she has pursued further studies to deepen and enhance her knowledge in music education.


Tracy began her piano journey at the age of five and achieved her ATCL (Associate of the Trinity College London) Diploma at 15. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is now studying for a Music Diploma in Piano Performance at Douglas College, where she was awarded a Distinction Scholarship. She has gained extensive experience as both a performer and accompanist. Additionally, she is deeply committed to community service, having spent a full year teaching piano voluntarily to children from underprivileged families in Hong Kong.
Tracy is a dedicated and detail-oriented musician, with strengths in piano performance, music theory, and ear training. She is eager to inspire others through piano teaching and performance.
Ms. Crystal Law has been passionate about music since childhood. She began learning the violin at the age of 9 and went on to achieve outstanding results, completing the ABRSM Grade 8 Violin exam at 19.
With 13 years of teaching experience, Ms. Law has been devoted to nurturing young musicians since her university years. She teaches individual violin lessons as well as group classes in elementary music theory, working with students of varying ages and skill levels. Her teaching style emphasizes patience, encouragement, and building a solid technical foundation while fostering a love for music. She tailors her lessons to each student’s pace and personality, aiming to inspire confidence and long-term growth in both performance and musical understanding.
Ms. Law is committed to continual learning and has pursued advanced studies in music education in recent years to refine her skills as an educator. Her goal is to guide students not only to succeed in exams but also to enjoy the creative and expressive aspects of music.
In addition to her musical background, Ms. Law holds a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting and Corporate Governance from the City University of Hong Kong.
